Winegrower and upmarket restaurant Nikolaihof
(Austria)

Dogs lap up Grander Water

The first time Christine Saahs, the owner of the exclusive Heuriger Nicolaihof in Mautern – an establishment known far beyond the borders of Lower Austria – came across Grander water revitalisation was during a holiday on a Demeter farm in the Waldviertel over ten years ago. The farmer was very proud of his new acquisition. Her first thought was: “Oh dear, the poor man has been sold a pup.” Since then she has had a Grander device installed in the main water pipe in her establishment, and everything from tea-making to preparations for the vineyards is revitalised.

The Nikolaihof is located on the site of an ancient settlement, with proof of human habitation dating back over two thousand years. Vines are cultivated according to strict biodynamic guidelines. Although it is actually the wine that she wants to sell in the elegant restaurant, Mrs. Saahs serves her guests a jug of Grander Water as a welcome drink. She often hears: “That’s wonderful water, where does it come from?” Mrs. Saahs was particularly pleased by an “animal” experiment of a special kind: she “served” her dachshund revitalised and non-revitalised water in two separate china bowls, lured him away and then switched the bowls round. The dachshund wasn’t fooled though, and made a beeline for the bowl with the revitalised water every time. Frau Saahs needs no further proof of the success of Grander water revitalisation ...
